I just started playing this game and my kid was next to me watching and after I told him I was looking for a good place to make a base he pointed out the area outside the cave entrance (we didn't know there was a cave entrance or even a cannibal village nearby so when I spent a bunch of time farming logs and what not we realized too late what happened. It worked out great though so far it seems to be a really abundant place to make camp. Killed the mom thing and the babies and found the dynamite stash as well

4:47 is a cool spot to build if you know how to build against cliffs. You can wall off the cliff side of the pond and not have to worry about attacks, but the downside is the lack of supplies.

I just want to confirm building montages, especially your style and with your choices in background music is a treat. Love your editing style and love what you have done for The Forest. I’m 160hours into playing Sons, and now I’m absorbing someone else’s take on the game who has played it from the start, see the changes as they come. Anyways, cheers mate.

You should try making spikes through the walls or against them facing outward, you can make the spikes on top of a log or two if theyre not eye height

I love the building system. I create amazing builds. And as for the plank on the slope, builders think of that, cause to get different outcomes you have to do different things. Otherwise it will try to lift the log up to level it out. And also to fill in that side gap you have on the slope. You place a 3Q log down flat first. Then the sloped angle then plank it, then fill up the sides again by stacking 3Q logs on that first 3Q log.

The only challenging thing in this game is BUILDING which which becomes boring over time, it's not fun anymore to fight against a hundred mutants. If you want to make the game more fun, Endnight, add more crafting options. If you want to make the game harder, reduce the amount of food on the map. I'm very confused by this game. P.S. I'm a fan of The Forest

The enemies spawning in our bses IS the reason i quit playing a long time ago. This has been a problem for far to long.

why don't you use firemans axe or katana as your primary melee weapon? i find them to be better especially the katana.

I’d enjoy bases much more in this game if the mechanics were similar to 7 DTD

You never play the game, legit. And the enemy come from the forest, they dont spawn in your base

My dude, I played on nearly the exact same settings as you. Low building damage being the only diff, because I like building neat things and not having them demolished. I can not for the life of me understand why you are having so much frustration and difficulty, and I've sailed through it. Embrace the bow and arrow its your best friend, and the Katana is king in melee.

For wall defense, you could try spikes or electric fence (Or both) Not very aethetically pleasing but has to look better than traps.

You should reinfore your wall with spiked sticks it takes a some to set up but very worth it.

Only way ive combatted this problem, was to build a stone wall say 4 blocks squared with roof, put plater inside and wait.

Build a tower away from your bace for upgrading and sleeping.

I'm not a regular viewer but it really seems you don't enjoy this game as much as the first which is fine, just play the first. These videos have a really depressing feel when every 30s is a complaint about a small bug or feature such as mutants spawning in the base when you have a cave entrance in your base. It's just 23 minutes of complaints which is fine, but 3 seasons and 18 episodes of a game you seem to hate?

Maybe you could put the spawner outside of the base? I assume that would make it more likely for them to not spawn in the base. By the way, I appreciate how creative your defenses are. It seems like you’re still able to find cool things to do, despite the limitations of the building system.
